Midnight Moonrise

This idea of romanticizing the past immediately reminded me of Midnight in Paris. The premise of this movie would essentially be my dream come true. Being transported to Paris in the 1920's would be quite a magical experience (biggest understatement EVER), as many of my favourite authors and artists were all creating masterpieces there at the same time. Unfortunately the film does remind you that everyone has these thoughts and wishes and no one is entirely content with the present.

Since time travel is likely impossible and obsessions aren't incredibly healthy I think I'll just keep appreciating past aesthetics from afar. Speaking of which, I'm currently counting down the days until Moonrise Kingdom hits the theatres. I almost wish I hadn't stumbled across the trailer because my excitement is already getting the best of me. Damn you Wes Anderson! Well I guess I'll go google image Royal Tenenbaums and Virgin Suicides now to get my fill of the seventies saturated film colouring that I love so dearly. I hope I last until May. -Bets.
