The Cloisters

The Cloisters are lovely and I guarantee that anyone who has been will agree. It's perched on top of a steep hill at the far northern reaches of the A train. Getting there was an arduous journey involving a ferry, two subways and a hike up the hill. By the time I got there I was a little grumpy and my feet hurt. None of that mattered as soon as I turned a corner on the path to see a beautiful view of the East River on my right side and the wonderful medieval architecture of the Cloisters on my left. Next time you find yourself in NYC please promise to go.

Adventuring

Summer is already treating me kindly. I went to Brooklyn for a few days, stayed in a yurt in Pennsylvania, and visited the badlands of Ontario and a friends family farm. Not bad for ten days. In NYC I was serenaded on the subway, accidentally offended Hassidic Jews, ate numerous bagels and succeeded in driving through Manhattan and Brooklyn without injury.
More photos to follow.

big small town.

Mixed-up hometown feelings.
It's a place we love and love to hate.
Sometimes I think it's not so bad after all.
